Borsa Italiana is one of the most important European stock exchanges and deals with the admission, management and control of financial instruments and operators in trading, and the obligations of operators and issuers. National and international intermediaries, connected to the market via an electronic trading system, guarantee the execution of trades in real time. The main objective of Borsa Italiana is to develop markets and maximize their liquidity, transparency, competitiveness and efficiency.

Since 2021, Borsa Italiana has been part of the Euronext Group, an independent company listed on its own markets. Euronext is the main capital market in the eurozone with 1,900 companies listed on the financial centers of Amsterdam, Brussels, Dublin, Lisbon, Milan, Oslo and Paris. The cumulative stock market capitalization of these companies is over 6 trillion euros at the end of December 2021, including an unrivaled basket of blue chips and a strong diversified national and international customer base. The Group is also active in post-trade, data analytics services and in private markets through the ELITE program dedicated to unlisted SMEs.

On the subject of sustainable finance , Borsa Italiana collaborates in Italy with companies, investors, policy makers and non-profit organizations in order to enhance the role of sustainability issues in the creation of financial value. In particular, Borsa Italiana is among the promoters of the Corporate Governance Committee, promoted the birth of the Sustainable Finance Partnership Program and is among the founders of ESGeneration Italy.

Rome to welcome Russell Crowe and Band

Did you know that Russell Crowe, the New Zealand born actor (star of Gladiator), was bestowed with an honorific - Ambassador of Rome in the World - accolade in October 2022 in recognition of the unique connection the Gladiator star has with Rome, the Eternal City. The Roman Ambassador, Movie Star, and Musician recently toured Italy and performed at the 2024 San Remo Music Festival. Russell will be back in Rome in 2025, performing with his band - The Gentlemen Barbers - at the Temple of Venus and Roma, located in the Roman Forum (opposite the Colosseum), on 23 June 2025.
